Sierra de Madrid 2021 Segunda Quincena – Diario del campamento

DÍA 1

¡Buenos días familias!

¡Estamos súper contentos de haber empezado el campamento por fin! Cuando llegamos a las instalaciones, tuvimos un rato de tiempo libre para conocer a nuestro nuevo hogar: Manjirón, ¡y también los monitores y monitoras! Estuvimos jugando muchos juegos entre nossotros para conocernos todos mejor.

Después de merendar, hicimos los grupos de las habitaciones y pudimos instalar todas nuestras cosas. Y tras la cena, ¡la velada a la luz de la luna! Los pequeños jugamos a “Flash light”, un juego muy divertido que consiste en llegar hasta los monitores mientras ellos cuentan hasta 5 pero cuando se dan la vuelta, nos alumbran con una linterna y nosotros nos teníamos que esconder nuestra identidad para que les fuera difícil adivinar quién era quién. ¡’Un juego muy divertido que nos ayuda a aprender los nombres de todos! Mientras tanto, los mayores a “Smugglers”. Después hablamos un ratito con nuestros monitores y… ¡a dormir!

DAY 1

Good morning parents!

We are super happy to have finally started the camp! When we arrived at the facilities, we had some free time to get to know our new home: Manjirón, and also the monitors! We played a lot of games with each other to get to know each other better.

After snack, we did the rooming organization so that we could install all our things. And after dinner, it was time for the night activity under the beautiful starry night sky! The little ones played «Flash light», a very fun game that consists of reaching the monitors while they count to 5 but when they turn around, they shine a flashlight on us and we had to hide our identity so that it would be difficult for them to guess who was who. A very fun game that helps us learn everyone’s names! In the meantime, the older kids went to «Smugglers». Afterwards we had a little chat with our monitors and… off to sleep!

 

DÍA 2

Estamos tan emocionados de estar de campamento que, ¡hoy nos hemos despertado casi todos antes de que nos llamaran los monitores!

Después de desayunar, los peques hemos jugado a The Risk, una gran aventura para ir poco a poco conquistando Manjirón. Mientras tanto, los mayores hemos hecho una pequeña ruta de senderismo en el campo para conocer mejor el entorno que es nuestra casa durante estos 15 días . Después de comer, mientras los «medianous» estabán en la piscina, los «Mayoures» hemos tenido tiempo libre jugando a las cartas, haciendo pulseras, etc bajo la sombre de los árboles del albergue.

Por la tarde, hemos hecho todos juntos un juego muy veraniego llamado «summer mix», donde hemos bailado, animado a nuestro equipo y disfrutado mucho y lo mejor eran los disfraces locos de nuestros monitores.

Por la noche, los peques jugamos al Manicomio: teníamos que descubrir qué trastornos tenían nuestros monitores para poder curarlos, ¡algunos estaban realmente locos! Y los «mayoures» hemos jugado a matrículas, nos hemos divertido mucho y nos hemos movido mucho, lo necesario para dormir bien esta noche.

DAY 2

We are so excited to be at camp that today we woke up almost all of us before the monitors called us!

After breakfast, the tweens played a fun game of The Risk, a great adventure to gradually conquer Manjirón. In the meantime, the older ones went on a small hiking route in the countryside to get to know better the environment that is our home during these 15 days. After lunch, while the «medianous» were in the swimming pool, the «Mayoures» had free time playing cards, making bracelets, etc. under the shade of the trees of the hostel.

In the afternoon, we all played together a very summery game called «summer mix», where we danced, cheered up our team and had a lot of fun and the best part was the crazy costumes of our monitors.

In the evening, the tweens played «crazy people»: we had to find out what disorders our monitors had in order to cure them, some of them were really crazy! And the teens played «number plates», a very dynamic game where we had to move around in our teams. This was a perfect game to end the night ‘cause we slept like angels!

DÍA 3

¡Buenos días padres!

Hoy ha sido muy divertido en Manjirón, por la mañana los «medianous» hemos arrancado la calurosa mañana con ¡una ginkana de agua! Ha sido muy divertido y hemos acabado con una pequeña guerra de agua, para ¡refrescarnos bien! Mientras tanto, los «mayoures» nos hemos ido de senderismo por la montaña para conocer mejor la naturaleza que nos rodea, cuando hemos vuelta, ay que hacía calor, hemos bebido mucha agua y hemos descansado un poco antes de la hora de comer.

Durante la tarde, después de que nosotros los «medianous» hemos vuelto de la piscina hemos empezado a jugar a 3 banderas, un juego que fortalece la estrategia y el trabajo en equipo para conseguir la bandera del equipo opuesto. Los «Mayoures» mientras tanto nos ha tocado jugar a la gymkhana de agua.

Por la noche, después de la deliciosa cena, nos hemos vuelto a dividir en nuestros grupos. los mayores jugamos a «The Scale» en el que, por equipos, teníamos que encontrar a nuestros monitores escondidos por las intalaciones y llevarles a la base, cada monitor valía sumaban o restaban puntos pero no lo describimos hasta el final y por supuesto el equipo ganador era el que más tenía.

DAY 3

Good morning parents!

Today has been a lot of fun in Manjirón, in the morning the «medianous» have started the hot morning with a water ginkana! It was a lot of fun and we finished with a little water war, to refresh ourselves well! In the meantime, the «mayoures» went hiking in the mountains to get to know better the nature around us, and when we came back, it was so hot, we drank a lot of water and rested a little before lunchtime.

During the afternoon, after we «medianous» came back from the pool, we started to play 3 flags, a game that strengthens the strategy and teamwork to get the flag of the opposite team. In the meantime, the «Mayoures» had to play the water gymkhana.

In the evening, after the delicious dinner, we divided into our groups again. The older ones played «The Scale» in which, by teams, we had to find our monitors hidden in the facilities and take them to the base, each monitor was worth added or subtracted points but we did not describe it until the end and of course the winning team was the one that had the most.

DÍA 4

¡Otro día soleado amanece en Manjirón!

Esta mañana, después de desayunar y recargar energías, nos hemos preparado para el Kayak a Cervera de Buitrago, un pueblo a tan sólo 15 minutitos de nuestro querido campamento. Allí nos han equipado con nuestros chalecos y nos han enseñado cómo utilizar las palas para ¡empezar con el Kayak! Mientras tanto, los Mayoures nos hemos quedado en el campamento jugando a un divertido juego de Quidditch: primero hemos tenido que crear las banderas de nuestros equipos, por supuesto inspirados en las películas de Harry Potter y después nos hemos ido a la pista de fútbol ¡a empezar el partido!

Por la tarde, los medianous nos han dado una sorpresa, nos hemos ido a la piscina a disfrutar de más agua y nos hemos comprado algún que otro caprichillo en el bar. Y los Mayoures en cambio, nos hemos preparado para ir al Kayak. Nos lo hemos pasado muy bien, hemos llegado hasta una playita que hay en el embalse, hemos jugado a un par de juegos con nuestros monitores y nos hemos vuelto para cambiarnos, tomarnos la merienda y volver al campamento. ¡Ha sido una tarde muy emocionante!

Por la noche nuestros monitores organizaron actividades con ¡mucha ambientación! Los medianous jugamos a “Dragones y Khalesis”, un juego donde tuvimos que trabajar en grupo para escapar de los dragones y salvar a l@s Khalesis. Mientras que los Mayoures estuvimos buscando a nuestros monitores en la finca y ayudándoles a resolver sus “problemas” en un juego de “Madhouse”. Ha sido un día muy divertido en el campamento y nos vamos a dormir muy plácidamente ¡a esperar a un nuevo día!

DAY 4

Another sunny day dawns in Manjirón!

This morning, after a healthy breakfast, the tweens got ready for the kayak trip to Cervera de Buitrago, a village just 15 minutes away from our beloved campsite. There, after the counselors helped us get ready and showed us how to use the paddles, we started kayaking! Meanwhile, the Mayoures stayed at the camp playing a fun game of Quidditch: first we had to create our team flags, of course inspired by the Harry Potter movies, and then we went to the soccer field to start the game!
In the afternoon, the medianous gave us a surprise, we went to the swimming pool to enjoy more water and we bought some treats at the bar. The Mayoures, on the other hand, got ready to go kayaking. We had a great time, we went to a small beach on the reservoir, played a couple of games with our monitors and then we went back to change, had a snack and went back to the camp. It was a very exciting afternoon!

In the evening our monitors organized activities with lots of atmosphere! The Medians played «Dragons and Khalesis», a game where we had to work as a group to escape from the dragons and save the Khalesis. While the Mayoures were looking for our monitors in the farm and helping them to solve their «problems» in a game of «Madhouse». It has been a fun day at the camp and we are going to sleep very peacefully and wait for a new day!

DIA 5

Empezamos este bonito día haciendo una actividad todos juntos. Nos encanta juntarnos y disfrutar, ya sabéis lo que dicen »Cuantos más, mejor». El juego al que jugamos todos se llamaba »Freakin» Olympics’. Este juego consistía en dividir a los niños en 8 grupos, cada grupo tenía tiempo para crear su propio país: tenían que idear un nombre original, crear su bandera y su propio grito de guerra. Luego, cada equipo tenía que presentar sus banderas y su grito de guerra y los equipos con las cosas más originales y creativas se llevaban el punto.
Tras la construcción de sus propios países llegó el momento de empezar a competir, como hacemos en las olimpiadas pero esta tuvo un toque especial y original ya que los retos son todos divertidos: Lanzamiento de zapatos, lanzamiento de chancletas, carrera de fideos, Irintxi,etc.
Un juego increíble para empezar el día, los niños pudieron relacionarse y sacar su luchador interior y competir de forma sana, animándose unos a otros, los mayoures ayudando a los medianos y divirtiéndose entre ellos.

Por la tarde, los medianous prepararon todo para su actividad nocturna, que era la Gala. Esta preparación incluía la decoración, la puesta en escena y los mini juegos. Aquí los medianous nos mostraron realmente lo hábiles que pueden ser: hicieron una piñata, un cartel, invitaciones para que todos tuvieran la entrada a la Gala y mucho más. Esta actividad fue tanto para los medianous como para los mayoures para que todos pudieran disfrutar de la decoración, la música y la diversión.

Al caer el sol, todos se preparaban para la maravillosa actividad nocturna. Todos se aseaban y se arreglaban, el código de vestimenta era »elegante». Se peinaron, se pusieron vestidos y camisas y sobre todo estaban muy emocionados por empezar a bailar y ser ellos mismos.

 

DAY 5

We started this beautiful day by doing an all together activity. We love to get together and enjoy, you know what they say ‘’ The more, the merrier’’. The game we all played was called ‘’Freakin’ Olympics’’. This game consisted of dividing the kids into 8 groups, each group had time to create their own country: they had to come up with an original name, create their flag and their own war cry. Each team had then to present their flags and war cry and the teams with the most original and creative things got the point. 

 After the construction of their own countries it was time for them to start competing, as we do in the olympics but this one had a special and original touch since the challenges are all funny ones: Shoe throw, flip flop throw, noodle race, Irintxi,etc. 

Amazing game to start the day, children got to bond and bring out their inner fighter and compete in a healthy way , cheering for each other, the mayoures helping out the medianous and having fun amongst them. 

In the afternoon, the medianous were preparing everything for their night activity which was the Gala. This preparation included decorations, stage setting and mini games. Here the medianous really showed us how handy they can be : they made a piñata, a sign, invitations so that everyone had the entrance to the Gala and much more. This activity was for both medianous and mayoures so that everyone could enjoy the decorations, music and fun. 

As the sun went down, all were getting ready for the wonderful night activity. They all got very clean and dressed up, the dress code was ‘’ smart’’. They did their hair, wore dresses and shirts and most of all were very excited to start dancing and be themselves.

DAY 6

Another day perfect for a full day of activities. Medianous started the day with a sports competition , since we had done funny olympics the previous day, this day was a chance for them to bring out their athletic skills. I also must mention that we aren’t talking about the sport we usually do, we call them alternative sports such as ultimate frisbee, all against one, etc. Meanwhile, the “mayores” couldn’t go kayaking since the day was too cloudy, so instead we did some short and fun sports games to warm up and then did a chill secret Santa workshop to create a small gift to exchange with our roommates. Some really creative things came out of that workshop!

After lunch, we relaxed a bit and then all together played a fun game of Party Rock. We were divided into teams and we got to play many classic board games such as taboo, pictionary, mimic, Who am I?, etc… It was really fun and our counselors were dressed as crazy funky characters which made it even more fun!

For the night activity, the counselors had a surprise prepared for us, since our behaviour was so good and it was a historic moment to watch, the night activity consisted of watching the Eurocup match of Spain vs Italy. We watched it outside, under the night stars and even though Spain didn’t win, we celebrated each goal as they did!

 

DÍA 6

Otro día perfecto para una jornada completa de actividades. Los medianos empezaron el día con una competición deportiva, ya que el día anterior habíamos hecho unas divertidas olimpiadas, este día fue una oportunidad para que sacaran a relucir sus habilidades atléticas. También debo mencionar que no se trata del deporte que hacemos habitualmente, los llamamos deportes alternativos como ultimate frisbee, todos contra uno, etc. Mientras tanto, los «mayores» no pudieron ir a navegar en kayak ya que el día estaba demasiado nublado, así que en su lugar hicimos algunos juegos deportivos cortos y divertidos para entrar en calor y luego hicimos un escalofriante taller de amigo invisible para crear un pequeño regalo para intercambiar con nuestros compañeros de habitación. ¡De ese taller salieron cosas realmente creativas!

Después de comer, nos relajamos un poco y luego jugamos todos juntos a un divertido juego de Party Rock. Nos dividimos en equipos y jugamos a muchos juegos de mesa clásicos como el tabú, el pictionary, el mimic, ¿Quién soy yo?, etc. ¡Fue muy divertido y nuestros consejeros estaban vestidos de personajes locos y divertidos, lo que lo hizo aún más divertido!

Para la actividad nocturna, los consejeros nos tenían preparada una sorpresa, ya que nuestro comportamiento fue tan bueno y fue un momento histórico para ver, la actividad nocturna consistió en ver el partido de la Eurocopa de España contra Italia. Lo vimos al aire libre, bajo las estrellas de la noche y aunque España no ganó, ¡celebramos cada gol como ellos!

 

DAY 7

Today’s day at camp was wonderful.

The Medianous team woke up to play well known games but with a twist. It is the traditional and beloved Battleship game at an XL scale and in real life, where the kids themselves felt the tension in their own skin of being the ship and required coordination amongst themselves, but with the tension came the laughter and the Medianous team enjoyed their morning battling. Nothing makes a team stronger than having to fight to save their ships. Here the motto is “All of one and one for all!”.

The Mayores team also had a classic activity among their hands, following our team building structure. Similar to the Medianous team, Mayoures also had to plan strategically in order to play “Save the egg!”. Here, Mayoures had to put all their heads together in order to have the best possible result they could wish for. The kids showed how resourceful they could be, as they recollected materials around the campsite, searching exhaustively in order to make the best possible crib for their egg. After, they got into the “Bob the builder” mindset and constructed away. Ultimately, all the cribs were put to the test and the children put the peers’ work to the test. As the morning progressed and the sun grew hotter, the children made their way to the pool and cool off,  while they discussed their experiences.

During the afternoon, the Medianous team began their scavenger hunt as they played the game “Hungry Hippos”. Here, the medianous played as teams and tried to gain as many points as possible, running around camp collecting flags from the trees and sometimes even from each other! Then it was their turn to experience what it truly means to be a hungry hippo and collected as many balls as they could to take their team to the winning stand. The competition and sport of this game kept the children active all afternoon long.

Meanwhile, the Mayoures were in charge of setting up our annual and local Festival! Here, the children are in charge and take decisions on what they think is the best possible way to celebrate this annual festivity where the whole camp participates. They decorated away and divided themselves into teams, creating stands where fellow campers could participate in exciting games in exchange for chickpeas. It was a delightful evening for the campers.

DÍA 7

El día de hoy en el campamento ha sido maravilloso.

El equipo de Medianous se ha despertado para jugar a juegos muy conocidos pero con una vuelta de tuerca. Se trata del tradicional y entrañable juego de la Batalla Naval a escala XL y en la vida real, donde los propios chicos sintieron en su propia piel la tensión de ser el barco y requirieron coordinación entre ellos, pero con la tensión llegaron las risas y el equipo de Medianous disfrutó de su mañana de batallas. Nada hace más fuerte a un equipo que tener que luchar para salvar sus naves. Aquí el lema es «¡Todos para uno y uno para todos!».

El equipo de Mayores también tuvo una actividad clásica entre sus manos, siguiendo nuestra estructura de team building. Al igual que el equipo de Medianous, Mayoures también tuvo que planificar estratégicamente para jugar a «¡Salvar el huevo!». En este caso, Mayoures tuvo que poner todas sus cabezas juntas para tener el mejor resultado posible que pudieran desear. Los niños demostraron lo ingeniosos que pueden ser, ya que recogieron materiales por el camping, buscando exhaustivamente para hacer la mejor cuna posible para su huevo. Después, se pusieron en la mentalidad de «Bob el constructor» y se pusieron a trabajar. Al final, todos los equipos se pusieron a prueba y los niños pudieron también evaluar el trabajo de sus compañeros. A medida que avanzaba la mañana y el sol se hacía más intenso, los niños se dirigieron a la piscina para refrescarse, mientras comentaban sus experiencias.

Por la tarde, el equipo de Medianous comenzó su búsqueda del tesoro jugando al juego «Hipopótamos hambrientos». Aquí, los medianous jugaron en equipo y trataron de ganar el mayor número de puntos posible, corriendo por el campamento recogiendo banderas de los árboles y, a veces, incluso de los demás. Luego les tocó experimentar lo que realmente significa ser un hipopótamo hambriento y recogieron todas las pelotas que pudieron para llevar a su equipo a la caseta ganadora. La competición y el deporte de este juego mantuvieron a los niños activos durante toda la tarde.

Mientras tanto, los Mayoures se encargaron de montar nuestra fiesta anual y local. Aquí, los niños son los encargados y toman decisiones sobre lo que creen que es la mejor manera posible de celebrar esta fiesta anual en la que participa todo el campamento. Se decoraron y se dividieron en equipos, creando puestos donde los compañeros del campamento podían participar en emocionantes juegos a cambio de garbanzos. Fue una tarde encantadora para los campistas.

DAY 8

The Medianous team today awoke with an adventurous spirit and as so, the according activity, Multi-adventure! The children had the opportunity to experience monkeying around camp with activities such as zip-linning across camp, balancing their way through the slack-line, learning how to aim with Archery and many more. All these activities kept us busy all morning learning news skills outdoors and in the company of their team members.

Meanwhile, the Mayoures team inserted themselves fully in the Harry Potter experience with the game “Quiddicht!”. Similarly to the competition in the film, the campers compete against each other in this sporty game, where there are different points depending on the different elements they have in their hands.

During the afternoon, the Medianous team was not done acquiring new skills. This time the activity was focused more on the creative side of things and children learned how to manage malleable material in order to make their own design. They started their designs from scratch all the way until the final touches of decorating. This workshop was very interesting to try out, it was a change of pace and it was lovely to give artistic skills a try during summer too. 

As the Medianous were in the workshop, it was Mayoures’ turn to give their adventurous spirit a go. Similarly, they tried out the aforementioned activities and had a blast.

Finally, it was night time and a Zombie apocalypse hit the Manjiron campsite! There were a few Zombies who needed to be cured if not the whole camp would turn into a wasteland. It was up to the campers to find out the secret codes in order to obtain the vaccines needed to save us all. The campers searched the codes and deciphered them and ultimately cured all the infected zombies and the counselors and the campers could live to play another day.

 

DÍA 8

El equipo de Medianous se ha despertado hoy con un espíritu aventurero y como tal, la actividad correspondiente, ¡Multiaventura! Los niños tuvieron la oportunidad de experimentar la monería en el campamento con actividades como la tirolina a través del campamento, el equilibrio en la cuerda floja, aprender a apuntar con el tiro con arco y muchas más. Todas estas actividades nos mantuvieron ocupados toda la mañana aprendiendo nuevas habilidades al aire libre y en compañía de los miembros de su equipo.

 

Mientras tanto, el equipo de Mayoures se introdujo de lleno en la experiencia de Harry Potter con el juego «¡Quiddicht!». De forma similar a la competición de la película, los campistas compiten entre sí en este juego deportivo, en el que hay diferentes puntos según los distintos elementos que tengan en sus manos.

 

Durante la tarde, el equipo de Medianous no terminó de adquirir nuevas habilidades. Esta vez la actividad se centró más en el aspecto creativo y los niños aprendieron a manejar el material maleable para realizar su propio diseño. Empezaron sus diseños desde cero hasta los toques finales de decoración. Este taller fue muy interesante para probar, fue un cambio de ritmo y fue encantador probar las habilidades artísticas también durante el verano. 

 

Como los Medianous estaban en el taller, les tocó a los Mayoures dar rienda suelta a su espíritu aventurero. Igualmente, probaron las actividades antes mencionadas y se lo pasaron en grande.

 

¡Finalmente, se hizo de noche y un apocalipsis Zombie llegó al camping de Manjiron! Había unos cuantos Zombies que necesitaban ser curados si no todo el campamento se convertiría en un páramo. Los campistas debían averiguar los códigos secretos para obtener las vacunas necesarias para salvarnos a todos. Los campistas buscaron los códigos y los descifraron y finalmente curaron a todos los zombis infectados y los consejeros y los campistas pudieron vivir para jugar otro día.

DAY 9

The Medianous team today was in a internacional spirit and the activity they carried out is called “Holiday Passport”. This game is a tribute to the different cultures and festivities that arise in our world. The campers must explore the campsite, looking for different counselors that represent different countries to learn about the diverse local holidays that a country can have. Even though we are going through these tough times we can transport ourselves. Campers perform tasks to gain further knowledge about the holidays.

 

The Mayoures team today woke up to a competitive spirit and played the game called “One to win”, it is the game where teams must constantly battle between each other to gain points for their team and win them all. It is a series of mini games where all the team members must play coordinately together to ensure the best possible result. In the Olympics spirit the teams cheered on their members and celebrated everyone’s victory. Here we learned to cooperate and help our peers for the greater good of the whole team, and nobody was left behind.

 

During the afternoon it was time for our camp March! Both teams, Medianous and Mayoures participated. We marched along a beautiful path, in Madrid’s rural countryside, and we were connected to nature. We observed the forestation and the body of water that came along the path. It was a wonderful opportunity for our campers to bond not only with their fellow campers but also with their surroundings. To finish off the marvelous day, we set up camp next to a lake and ate our dinner under the stars and beside the soothing sounds of the water. The whole camp danced along to campfire songs and fairytales and finally, everyone tucked themselves away in their sleeping bags and slept away.

 

DÍA 9

El equipo de Medianous ha tenido hoy un espíritu internacional y la actividad que han realizado se llama «Pasaporte de vacaciones». Este juego es un homenaje a las diferentes culturas y festividades que surgen en nuestro mundo. Los campistas deben explorar el campamento, buscando a los diferentes consejeros que representan a diferentes países para conocer las diversas fiestas locales que puede tener un país. A pesar de estar pasando por estos tiempos difíciles podemos transportarnos. Los campistas realizan tareas para adquirir más conocimientos sobre las fiestas.

El equipo de Mayoures se ha despertado hoy con un espíritu competitivo y ha jugado al juego llamado «One to win», es el juego en el que los equipos deben luchar constantemente entre sí para ganar puntos para su equipo y ganarlos todos. Se trata de una serie de minijuegos en los que todos los miembros del equipo deben jugar coordinadamente para asegurar el mejor resultado posible. Con el espíritu olímpico, los equipos animaron a sus miembros y celebraron la victoria de todos. Aquí aprendimos a cooperar y ayudar a nuestros compañeros por el bien de todo el equipo, y nadie se quedó atrás.

Por la tarde llegó la hora de la marcha del campamento. Los dos equipos, Medianous y Mayoures participaron. Marchamos por un hermoso camino, en la campiña madrileña, y nos conectamos con la naturaleza. Observamos la forestación y la masa de agua que venía a lo largo del camino. Fue una maravillosa oportunidad para que nuestros campistas se relacionaran no sólo con sus compañeros sino también con su entorno. Para terminar el maravilloso día, acampamos junto a un lago y cenamos bajo las estrellas y junto al relajante sonido del agua. Todo el campamento bailó al ritmo de las canciones de la hoguera y los cuentos de hadas y, finalmente, todos se metieron en sus sacos de dormir y durmieron.

DAY 10

Today’s day started off early with the sunrise at our campsite. We began packing up our things and making sure we left the campsite better than we came, picking up any garbage we might’ve left behind, teaching the valuable lesson of respecting nature and appreciating it. After everything was packed and everyone had their breakfast, we marched our way back to our camp just in time to clean ourselves off and eat lunch.

After such an exhausting but rewarding experience, the afternoon was dedicated to different set up workshops, where the campers participated in the most interesting ones. The workshops were various and there was time to even repeat their favorite activities. Herem the campers could dedicate their time to their most favorite activities, whether it be to develop their artistic and creative skills, to get into the sports mood and play spike ball and even to further better their english in the debate-atheletics, where campers learned how to discuss different points of view with the utmost respect.

Finally, to finish off a great day, the evening activity was to tuck ourselves in to have a movie night. There was popcorn to go around and we watched the brand new Disney film “Raya and the last dragon” under the stars.

 

DÍA  10

El día de hoy comenzó temprano con el amanecer en nuestro campamento. Empezamos a recoger nuestras cosas y a asegurarnos de que dejamos el campamento mejor de lo que vinimos, recogiendo cualquier basura que pudiéramos haber dejado atrás, enseñando la valiosa lección de respetar la naturaleza y apreciarla. Después de recoger todo y de que todo el mundo desayunara, regresamos al campamento justo a tiempo para asearnos y almorzar.

Después de una experiencia tan agotadora pero gratificante, la tarde se dedicó a diferentes talleres de montaje, en los que los campistas participaron en los más interesantes. Los talleres fueron variados y hubo tiempo incluso para repetir sus actividades favoritas. Aquí los campistas pudieron dedicar su tiempo a sus actividades más favoritas, ya sea para desarrollar sus habilidades artísticas y creativas, para entrar en el ambiente deportivo y jugar al spike ball e incluso para mejorar aún más su inglés en el debate-atletismo, donde los campistas aprendieron a discutir diferentes puntos de vista con el máximo respeto.

Por último, para terminar un gran día, la actividad de la noche fue arroparnos para tener una noche de cine. Hubo palomitas para todos y vimos la nueva película de Disney «Raya y el último dragón» bajo las estrellas.

DAY 11 

We started the day off the day with a nice breakfast and ready to take on the new day! In morning the madious played a fun game of One to win, where each team had to demonstrated their cognitive abilities and skills! Meanwhile, us mayoures left on a hike around the town and played a fun game of 3 flags in nature. Althtough the day was hot, we drank a lot of water and had a lot of fun! 

In the afternoon, right after lunch, we all played “ Guiness records” and it was very fun to see how many people could beat even our counselors! 

During the afternoon, us medianous played Destroy the egg, where we had to construct a spaceship for our dear egg and hope it would protect it from the rival teams! On the other side of the camp were the mayoures creating cool videos to show each other at the end of the camp! A fun activity that made us explore our more creative side.

To seal off the night, the whole camp danced and played trivia to the sound of Fervor! The game show night. It was packed with our counselors cheering on the teams as they answered questions with Medianous and Mayores working all together.

DÍA 11

¡Empezamos el día con un buen desayuno y listos para afrontar el nuevo día! Por la mañana, los locos jugaron un divertido juego de «Uno para ganar», en el que cada equipo tuvo que demostrar sus capacidades y habilidades cognitivas. Mientras tanto, los Mayoures nos fuimos de excursión por el pueblo y jugamos un divertido juego de 3 banderas en la naturaleza. Aunque el día era caluroso, ¡bebimos mucha agua y nos divertimos mucho!
Por la tarde, justo después de comer, jugamos todos a los «récords de Guiness» y fue muy divertido ver cuántos podían ganar incluso a nuestros consejeros.
¡Por la tarde, los medianos jugamos a Destruir el huevo, donde teníamos que construir una nave espacial para nuestro querido huevo y esperar que lo protegiera de los equipos rivales! Por otro lado, los mayoures crearon vídeos muy chulos para enseñárselos a los demás al final del campamento. Una actividad divertida que nos hizo explorar nuestro lado más creativo.

Para cerrar la noche, todo el campamento bailó y jugó al trivial al son de ¡Fervor! La noche de los juegos. Estuvo repleta de nuestros consejeros animando a los equipos mientras respondían a las preguntas con Medianous y Mayores trabajando todos juntos.

DAY 12 

Today, the campers were awakened by the sound of great wind. The inflatables had arrived to camp and it was time for the campers to enjoy bouncing all morning. The inflatables were set-up on our campsite and there were a variety of them as well. There was the infamous Bouncy castle, where the campers must try to get all the way across without falling off, a great challenge indeed when the castle is bouncy itself. There were Sumo suits, where campers experienced the weight and challenge it is to try and pin their peers down on a mat. They raced on bouncy horses and challenged each other to duels. Campers got on their platforms and tried to be the last one standing in a sweeping stage. There was even a wipe out phase, where the campers tried to knock off their opponent and tried to remain standing on the inflatable platform. 

Overall, the morning was quite the craze but it was all worth it. 

During the afternoon, it was the Medianous teams turn to play “Quiddicth”. This game submerges themselves in the world of Harry Potter for the afternoon. They played well into the evening in this movie themed activity, where it was competition based as the film suggests. The campers had their adrenaline pumping as they ran across the campsite to gain different points in the name of their team.Meanwhile, us mayoures played many dynamic sports games to activate during the morning!

At night, it was time to play the most musical of all, Furor! Here, similarly to the previous night, the Medianous and Mayores teams worked together to solve musical mysteries, and alongside them, the counselors who cheered them on all night long. All night we could hear the best pop songs up to this moment, their musical language skills were put to the test and the campers even proved their excellent skills to identify songs and lyrics. In between every challenge was a dance battle that the teams fought with their sweat and to the rhythm, the teams gave it their all, especially when it comes to dance battles. 

DÍA 12

Hoy, los campistas han amanecido con el sonido de un gran viento. Los hinchables habían llegado al campamento y era el momento de que disfrutaran rebotando toda la mañana. Los hinchables estaban instalados en nuestro campamento y había una gran variedad de ellos. Había el famoso castillo hinchable, en el que los campistas debían intentar llegar hasta el final sin caerse, un gran reto cuando el propio castillo es hinchable. Hubo trajes de sumo, donde los campistas experimentaron el peso y el desafío que supone intentar inmovilizar a sus compañeros en una colchoneta. Corrían en caballos hinchables y se retaban a duelos. Los campistas se subieron a sus plataformas e intentaron ser el último en pie en una fase de barrido. Hubo incluso una fase de barrido, en la que los campistas intentaron derribar a su oponente y trataron de permanecer de pie en la plataforma hinchable. 

En general, la mañana fue toda una locura, pero todo mereció la pena. 

Por la tarde, les tocó a los equipos de Medianous jugar al «Quiddicth». Este juego les sumerge en el mundo de Harry Potter durante la tarde. Jugaron hasta bien entrada la noche en esta actividad temática de la película, en la que se competía como la película sugiere. Los campistas tenían la adrenalina a flor de piel mientras corrían por el camping para ganar diferentes puntos en nombre de su equipo.

Durante la tarde. después de volver de la piscina, volvimos al campamento para ayudar a desmontar los hinchables jugamos a Uno contra todos, un juego perfecto para desahogarnos corriendo y pillando los del otro equipo.

Por la noche, llegó el momento de jugar al más musical de todos, ¡Furor! Aquí, al igual que la noche anterior, los equipos de Medianous y Mayores trabajaron juntos para resolver misterios musicales, y junto a ellos, los consejeros que los animaron durante toda la noche. Durante toda la noche pudimos escuchar las mejores canciones pop hasta el momento, se pusieron a prueba sus conocimientos de lenguaje musical e incluso los campistas demostraron sus excelentes habilidades para identificar canciones y letras. Entre cada reto hubo una batalla de baile que los equipos lucharon con sudor y al ritmo, los equipos lo dieron todo, especialmente cuando se trata de batallas de baile.

 

DAY 13

The final activity morning dawns on our camp so we are determined to make the most out of it.

For the medinous, our counselors had prepared a really game of hunger games then a foto gymkhana where we had to run around the facilities and take lots of cool pics! Meanwhile, the Mayoures are busy in their scavenger hunt in nature. Here they must exhaustively search in teams and scour the camp thoroughly in order to find the missing elements they need in order to complete their task. This is a team effort, so the campers are required to effectively communicate amongst themselves and divide the tasks in order to work as team. Not only will they compete against other teams, in this game they must put all their minds together and connect with nature.

 

As it is the last day in our wonderful camp, we have decided to dedicate our last afternoon together to cherish the best moment through-out camp. While we begin to pack away our things and make sure nothing is left behind we also make sure no one is left behind, in the sense that we expressly dedicate a few special words to the most special people at camp for each other, while we sign our t-shirts and receive our diplomas, in order to not forget what a special summer it has been.

 

Nevertheless, we mustn’t leave camp in a sad note as this will always be a happy memory and as so we prepared ourselves to have our camp Party! We dressed to the nines and had a special dinner all together. There was a lot of music, special lights, snacks and most important, lots of laughter as the night grew deep. We then dedicated some special words to our peers with candlelight and hugged goodbye. This was the last night at camp but wow, was it special!.

 

DÍA 13

La mañana de la actividad final amanece en nuestro campamento, así que estamos decididos a aprovecharla al máximo.

 

Para los medinous, nuestros consejeros habían preparado un verdadero juego de los juegos del hambre y luego una gymkhana fotográfica en la que teníamos que correr por las instalaciones y hacer muchas fotos chulas. Mientras tanto, los Mayoures están ocupados en su búsqueda del tesoro en la naturaleza. Aquí deben buscar exhaustivamente en equipos y recorrer el campamento a fondo para encontrar los elementos que les faltan para completar su tarea. Se trata de un trabajo en equipo, por lo que los campistas deben comunicarse eficazmente entre ellos y dividir las tareas para trabajar en equipo. No sólo competirán contra otros equipos, sino que en este juego deberán poner todas sus mentes en común y conectar con la naturaleza.

 

Como es el último día de nuestro maravilloso campamento, hemos decidido dedicar nuestra última tarde juntos a aprovechar y apreciar los mejores momentos del campamento. Mientras empezamos a recoger nuestras cosas y nos aseguramos de que nada se quede atrás, también nos aseguramos de que nadie se quede atrás, en el sentido de que dedicamos expresamente unas palabras especiales a las personas más especiales del campamento para cada uno, mientras firmamos nuestras camisetas y recibimos nuestros diplomas, para no olvidar lo especial que ha sido este verano.

 

Sin embargo, no debemos dejar el campamento con una nota triste, ya que siempre será un recuerdo feliz, y por eso nos preparamos para tener nuestra ¡fiesta del campamento! Nos vestimos de punta en blanco y tuvimos una cena especial todos juntos. Hubo mucha música, luces especiales, aperitivos y lo más importante, muchas risas mientras la noche se hacía profunda. Luego dedicamos unas palabras especiales a nuestros compañeros con la luz de las velas y nos despedimos con un abrazo. Esta fue la última noche en el campamento, pero ¡vaya si fue especial!
